Kathmandu [Nepal], July 2 (ANI): According to a press release from the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, the foundation stone for the construction of Shree Jan Adarsha Secondary School in Shivasatakshi Municipality-6 of Jhapa district was laid.
According to a press release from the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, the foundation stone for the construction of Shree Jan Adarsha Secondary School in Shivasatakshi Municipality-6 of Jhapa district was laid.
The foundation stone was jointly laid by Koshi Provincial Assembly Member Radha Krishna Khanal, Mayor of Shivasatakshi Municipality Meghahang Thopra, and Second Secretary at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu Garima Nautiyal.
“The School Building is being built with Government of India’s financial assistance of Nepali Rupees 30 million approximately. This High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP), will be implemented through the Shivasatakshi Municipality, Jhapa,” the release stated.
The Mayor of Shivasatakshi Municipality, Jhapa, and other stakeholders appreciated the developmental support being provided by the Government of India and expressed confidence that the new infrastructure would help enhance the learning environment for students and educators in Shivasatakshi Municipality.
As close neighbours, India and Nepal are engaged in wide-ranging, multi-sectoral cooperation. The implementation of High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDPs) reflects the continued support of the Government of India in strengthening the efforts of the Government of Nepal to promote growth and development while augmenting infrastructure in priority sectors.
Over the past seven decades, India-Nepal development cooperation has expanded and diversified to cover a wide range of sectors, including health, education, power, archives, archaeology, connectivity, trade, agriculture, cultural heritage preservation, and capacity building.
The projects implemented under the bilateral development partnership are based on Nepal’s needs and priorities and are spread across the country. India-Nepal cooperation for the development of modern infrastructure began in 1951 with the construction of Gauchar Airport in Kathmandu, which was completed in 1954.
The Indian Aid Mission in Nepal was established in 1954 to coordinate various development projects of the Government of India in areas such as connectivity, health, education and power. Since then, development cooperation has emerged as one of the strongest pillars of the India-Nepal bilateral partnership. (ANI)
