Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], September 25 (ANI): Reacting to BRS leader T Harish Rao’s defamation case against Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president B Mahesh Kumar Goud and Congress MLC Addanki Dayakar, Congress leader Motha Rohith on Friday said that such legal action would not deter the party from continuing its political fight against Harish Rao and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
Harish Rao had filed a criminal defamation complaint against Mahesh Kumar Goud and Addanki Dayakar over allegations that they had made defamatory remarks linking him to occult rituals during a temple visit. The Nampally court accepted the complaint, and the matter is scheduled for further proceedings.
Speaking on the issue, Rohith said, “What he has been doing against KCR, the same thing he is now doing against the Telangana government and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. And this has been very specifically exposed by our PCC President, Mahesh Kumar.”
He further said, “Neither Mahesh Kumar nor anyone else is going to get afraid of such defamation cases. We will continue our fight against Harish Rao and the BRS.”
Rohith also referred to allegations previously made by K Kavitha against her brother Harish Rao, saying, “Harish Rao, if you have any moral right, first answer Kavitha regarding where she openly made allegations that you have performed such illegal rituals against her father, KCR.”
Harish Rao, meanwhile, has maintained that the allegations against him were false and defamatory. He appeared before the Nampally court on September 24 and recorded his statement in the case. The court is scheduled to record the statements of Mahesh Kumar Goud and Dayakar on September 30. (ANI)
