Mandya (Karnataka) [India], July 22 (ANI): A huge protest was held in Mandya by the District Youth Congress against the NEET irregularities and the alleged question paper leak, condemning the central government. The protest march started from the MIMS premises in Mandya and culminated at Sanajay Circle.
Hundreds of students took part in the demonstration demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
On Tuesday, MLA Ganiga P. Ravikumar joined the students’ march and raised slogans against the Centre. KPCC Working President M.S. Chidambar, Mysugar President C.D. Gangadhar, District Youth Congress President Shailendra, and other Congress leaders also participated.
Addressing the protesters, MLA Ganiga P. Ravikumar said the central government has no compassion for students.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stop doing ‘shoki’ and save the students. Did you become PM only for votes? The Union Education Minister is incompetent. Do we need such a minister for the country?” he asked.
He alleged that the NEET question paper was leaked to help BJP leaders make “crores of rupees”. He also condemned the lathi-charge on students protesting in Delhi and the arrest of Rahul Gandhi for supporting students.
“The future of students has been ruined. This is an anti-student central government. Delhi police have assaulted students. Congress will stand with you until students get justice,” Ravikumar added.
The protesters demanded the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for the NEET scam and the mismanagement of the education system.
“If he does not resign, students will block the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway and hold a massive agitation,” the MLA warned.
The protestors also raised slogans against the central government over the NEET scam and irregularities in the education system.
The demonstration saw participation from hundreds of students and Congress workers who demanded justice for aspirants affected by the NEET controversy.
Earlier in July, a large number of students staged a massive protest near the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Karnataka’s Mandya against alleged irregularities in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) examination, targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led central government.
The demonstration reflected growing outrage among students over repeated irregularities in the NEET exam, with demands for accountability. (ANI)
