He said the station, redeveloped at a cost of around Rs 19 crore, reflects the natural beauty of the Doon Valley and Uttarakhand’s rich cultural heritage. Traditional Aipan art has been incorporated into the station premises, creating a harmonious blend of modern infrastructure and local culture, while state-of-the-art passenger amenities will make travel safer, more convenient, and more comfortable.
As per the release, the Chief Minister said that under the leadership of PM Modi, Indian Railways is undergoing an unprecedented transformation. He noted that continuous improvements have been made in railway modernisation, safety, speed, and technological efficiency, while indigenous trains such as Vande Bharat and Namo Bharat have emerged as new symbols of an Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Dhami said that with the Prime Minister’s guidance and the Centre’s support, the dream of extending rail connectivity to Uttarakhand’s mountainous regions is rapidly becoming a reality. He added that more than 75 per cent of the Rishikesh-Karnaprayag Rail Project has been completed, and once operational, it will significantly boost the state’s social, economic, and tourism sectors.
He also noted that the two Vande Bharat trains serving Uttarakhand have greatly improved travel convenience for passengers and tourists visiting the state.
The Chief Minister further said that the Union Government has allocated a record Rs 4,769 crore for railway infrastructure development in Uttarakhand in this year’s Railway Budget, while railway projects worth over Rs 39,491 crore are currently under implementation in the state. He said this reflects PM Modi’s special commitment and affection towards Uttarakhand.
Expressing confidence, Dhami said the redeveloped Harrawala Railway Station would become a significant milestone in Uttarakhand’s development journey and further strengthen the state’s vision of Viksit Uttarakhand in line with the national resolve of building a Viksit Bharat. (ANI)
