New Delhi [India], August 24 (ANI): ICEYE, the operator of the world’s largest and most advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) microsatellite constellation, on Monday announced the formal establishment of ICEYE India in New Delhi. The move marks the company’s official expansion into one of the world’s most significant defence and space markets.

The establishment of ICEYE India comes as the country marks National Space Day. In its release, ICEYE said that the establishment of ICEYE India highlights the growing strategic importance of space-based capabilities to India’s national security, resilience and technology ambitions. The company’s expanding presence in India reflects the increasing relevance of advanced Earth observation and sovereign intelligence capabilities to the country’s evolving space and defence ecosystem.

The release further said that ICEYE India’s immediate priority is supporting India’s defence and intelligence customers to access advanced intelligence capabilities and solutions that strengthen national security and resilience, alongside broader engagement with the country’s space and defence ecosystem through supply-chain participation, technology validation, and local capability building.

Rafal Modrzewski, CEO and Co-founder of ICEYE, said the company is eager to support India in strengthening the country’s sovereign intelligence capabilities.

“ICEYE India means real engineering and manufacturing capability on the ground. We’re excited to build this together with the government and local partners and to support India as it strengthens its own sovereign intelligence capability,” said Modrzewski.

The Company also said that the entity is also the platform for ICEYE’s manufacturing plans in India.
