Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], October 16 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated 101 new food distribution centres under the Shramik Annapurna Yojana across 28 districts of the state on Friday. The event was held alongside a Seva Daan programme organised under the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
During the inauguration, Patel was seen serving food to people, highlighting the campaign’s focus on public service and community welfare. The initiative aims to extend the reach of the food distribution scheme to workers across Gujarat.

The “Seva Sankalp Yatra” began on September 17 in Vadnagar and Varanasi under the leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years of public service. The Yatra is spreading the message of service, social responsibility, and public participation across the country, as per the BJP.
As part of the campaign, BJP MP Sambit Patra distributed 20 Modi Scooties to persons with disabilities in Puri, Odisha, under the Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan. The distribution programme was organised in the Puri Lok Sabha constituency, near the temple of Lord Jagannath. He noted that the beneficiaries included women, young men and children who often faced difficulties travelling long distances, particularly for educational purposes.

Patra said the assistance would enable beneficiaries to move around more independently and pursue their goals with greater ease. He also emphasised the importance of service as a means of connecting with people and addressing their needs.
The food distribution initiative in Gujarat and the mobility assistance programme in Odisha were among the activities undertaken during the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. Both initiatives highlighted welfare-oriented efforts aimed at supporting different sections of society.
The campaign’s central message, as articulated by Patra, was that public service should remain an essential component of governance, with initiatives focused on addressing the practical needs of citizens. (ANI)
