
Jagdalpur (Chhattisgarh) [India], July 1 (ANI): IPS Badrinarayan Meena on Wednesday formally assumed charge as the Inspector General of Police, Bastar Range, succeeding Sundarraj Pattlingam, who is proceeding on deputation to the Government of India as Inspector General of Police in the National Investigation Agency.
According to an official statement, the charge-taking ceremony was held at the Office of the Inspector General of Police, Bastar Range, Jagdalpur, in the presence of Shallabh Sinha, Superintendent of Police, Bastar District, along with senior police officers and officials of Bastar Range.
On the occasion, Sundarraj Pattlingam extended a warm welcome to Meena and conveyed his best wishes for a successful, safe and memorable tenure in Bastar. He expressed confidence that the officers and personnel of Bastar Police would extend to the new Inspector General the same dedication, cooperation and camaraderie that they had consistently demonstrated throughout his tenure.
Sundarraj Pattlingam also expressed his sincere gratitude to the Government, Police Headquarters, the people of Bastar, the officers and personnel of Bastar Police, all security forces, the civil administration, public representatives, the media fraternity and every stakeholder for their unwavering trust, cooperation and support throughout this journey.
He stated that every achievement of the past years was the result of the collective courage, commitment and coordinated efforts of all those associated with the mission. He also remembered and paid heartfelt tribute to the police and security personnel, members of the native population, public representatives and media personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in the fight against Left Wing Extremism during the past years.
“In March 2026, the resolve for Naxal-mukt Bastar, Naxal-mukt Chhattisgarh and Naxal-mukt India was fulfilled. In this journey, we always received your cooperation, support and trust. By bowing to our colleagues, citizens, public representatives and people in the media who made the supreme sacrifice for peace, security and development of Bastar region. We also remember the bereaved families and Naxal-affected families. We take the resolve to take Bastar further ahead on the path to peace and development,” P Sundarraj said.
The outgoing Inspector General further acknowledged the wholehearted support extended towards Mission 2026–the vision conceived by the Government of India and the Government of Chhattisgarh and pursued under the guidance of Police Headquarters to establish enduring peace, security and development in Bastar.
He expressed confidence that under the leadership of Badrinarayan Meena, this shared mission would gather greater momentum and bring Bastar closer to the common goal of lasting peace, inclusive development and prosperity.
Badrinarayan Meena expressed his commitment to building upon the achievements of the past years and working in close coordination with all stakeholders to further strengthen peace, security, development and public confidence across Bastar. (ANI)
