Patna (Bihar) [India], October 28 (ANI): Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary participated in the ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ (Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy) march on Wednesday. The Chief Minister marched on foot from Kargil Chowk to JP Golambar at Gandhi Maidan and paid floral tributes to Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan at his statue.
Addressing the gathering from the stage set up at Kargil Chowk, the Chief Minister said, “I extend my greetings to all of you who have gathered here in large numbers for this march. Attempts are being made by opposition parties, under the leadership of the Congress party, to dismantle the democratic and constitutional systems. The people of the country will defeat these attempts.
“Those who trampled democracy, imposed an Emergency in the country and took away people’s fundamental rights are now making a show of their commitment to democracy. If they remember the deeds of their ancestors, they would not have the courage to go before the people,” he said.
“Under the leadership of the country’s successful Prime Minister, respected Narendra Modi, the country is progressing on the path of development, and democracy has been strengthened under his leadership. Under the leadership of Narendra Modi, the government has enhanced people’s basic facilities, dignity and respect, while establishing India as a strong nation on the international stage. This is why the people elect him repeatedly,” the CM added.
“The opposition is unable to accept this. The opposition should understand that if Narendra Modi works, the people will vote for him. In a democracy, the people elect those who work. In a democracy, the people are supreme,” he further said.
The Chief Minister said that the BJP had reached its present position through struggle. He said the BJP remained among the people and worked to resolve their problems.
“The Congress party has now resorted to abusive language. Whether elections are held through ballot papers or EVMs, the Congress party has continued to lose elections. It is unable to win elections and is therefore resorting to such actions. Abusive remarks are being made against the late father and late mother of the respected Prime Minister. This is in no way acceptable in a civilised society. The people of the country will respond to this. Those who play with democracy will not be forgiven by the people,” he said.
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the NDA secured 202 seats in the Bihar Assembly elections in 2025, and Nitish Kumar assumed office as the Chief Minister of the NDA government. Subsequently, everyone together entrusted me with the responsibility of Chief Minister. In a democracy, the person chosen by the people assumes office and takes responsibility towards them. It is our collective responsibility to fulfil the dream of a developed India envisioned by the respected Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and a prosperous Bihar envisioned by former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The BJP stands firmly to protect democracy. We stand with democracy,” he added.
On the occasion, BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi also addressed the gathering.
During the march, several ministers of the state government, MPs, MLAs, members of the Legislative Council, public representatives, dignitaries and a large number of people were present. (ANI)
