New Delhi [India], July 30 (ANI): Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Thursday questioned Union Home Minister Amit Shah following the incident at Jantar Mantar and said that he “should have resigned earlier”, while alleging that the police action at the protest site was recorded in the General Diary of Parliament Street Police Station.
Speaking to ANI, Raut said, “Such a major incident has taken place at Jantar Mantar. Rahul Gandhi is standing in the Lok Sabha and speaking about you. Yet, you are nowhere to be seen. So, what’s the reason behind your disappearance?”
Raut further said, “As for the police action at Jantar Mantar, the complete account and the entire report have been entered in the General Diary of Parliament Street Police Station. The General Diary of Parliament Street Police Station contains the full record of the police action.”
Targeting Amit Shah, Raut said, “Amit Shah should have resigned earlier. When Pulwama happened, Pahalgam happened. PM should have taken his resignation first and sent him home,” Raut said.
He also launched a sharp attack on the Union Home Minister, saying, “Shah General Dyer, General Kayar hai.”
While addressing the Press conference here, Raut questioned Shah’s absence and referred to the recent film Laapataa Ladies while taking a dig at Shah.
“But where is Amit Shah? The country’s Home Minister has to be searched for by the public and by the MPs,” Raut said.
Taking a jibe at Shah, he said, “A movie came out recently, ‘Laapataa Ladies’ (Missing Ladies). I’m thinking of making a film called ‘Missing Home Minister’.
“He has been in Delhi for 10 years, Amit Shah ji. He used to speak on everything, assert his presence on everything, and keep threatening people through ED and CBI. But such a big incident has occurred at Jantar Mantar in your name,” he said.
He also questioned Shah’s absence while Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi was speaking about the matter in Parliament.
“Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi is standing in the Lok Sabha and speaking about you, and you are missing. What is the secret behind being missing? The pellet guns fired at Jantar Mantar…” Raut said. (ANI)
