Washington DC [US], August 23 (ANI): Netflix has expanded the cast of its live-action series ‘One Piece’ Season 3, officially titled ‘One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta’, with four new actors joining the upcoming season, according to Variety.

Emilio Sakraya, known for “Rheingold”, will portray Koza, while Omid Abtahi from “The Mandalorian” will play Toto. Jamie Ward of “The Gentlemen” has been cast as Pell, and Nabeel Khan, known for “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom”, will essay the role of Chaka.

The upcoming season will see the return of Inaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday, Mikaela Hoover as Chopper, Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0, Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday and Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefertari Cobra, according to Variety.

Season 3 will also introduce new characters, including Cole Escola as Bon Clay, Xolo Mariduena as Portgas D. Ace, Daisy Head as Miss Doublefinger and Awdo Awdo as Mr. 1, according to Variety.

The story will continue after the events of the second season, with Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat crew heading to Alabasta, the homeland of Princess Vivi. The season will focus on a rebellion threatening to destroy the kingdom, secretly driven by one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, Sir Crocodile, and his organisation Baroque Works.

According to the series’ logline, the Straw Hats will face a civil war and powerful enemies while trying to save Vivi’s kingdom from collapse.

Joe Tracz and Ian Stokes will serve as co-showrunners, writers and executive producers for the season. The series was created in partnership with Shueisha and is produced by Tomorrow Studios and Netflix.

Executive producers include Eiichiro Oda, Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes, Christoph Schrewe and Steven Maeda. Production for Season 3 has concluded in Cape Town, South Africa, according to Variety. (ANI)
