Los Angeles [US], August 21 (ANI): Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is in talks to join the third season of Netflix’s ‘The Gentlemen’, Variety reported. The update came shortly after reports surfaced about Markle eyeing a return to acting after her move back to the UK.

The Guy Ritchie series, which is yet to be officially renewed for Season 3, features Theo James as an aristocratic soldier who inherits his late father’s massive estate, only to discover that it is home to an underground cannabis empire.

The show’s first season turned out to be a hit, while Season 2 is set to premiere on September 3.

Details surrounding Meghan Markle’s potential role have been kept under wraps, as she is said to be in very early talks and with no contract in place.

Markle is best known for playing Rachel Zane in the legal drama ‘Suits’, in which she starred for seven seasons from 2011 to 2018. She stepped back from acting after marrying Prince Harry in 2018, though she has continued to appear on screen in other capacities.

She is set to make a cameo as herself in the upcoming Amazon MGM comedy Close Personal Friends, which stars Brie Larson and Lily Collins. Markle also recently hosted the Netflix lifestyle series ‘With Love, Meghan’, which coincided with the launch of her lifestyle brand, As Ever, and appeared as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia.

The possible acting return comes after Harry and Meghan announced their plans to return to England. The couple is expected to be back on UK soil in the coming weeks, with their children, Archie and Lilibet, set to begin school in September, according to Variety.

The move is expected to be for an “extended period”, although the couple will retain their home in Montecito, California. They do not intend to relocate their production banner Archewell or lifestyle brand As Ever to the UK.

Harry and Meghan will continue as non-working royals after stepping down from their royal duties in 2020 and subsequently moving to California. (ANI)
