Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], November 3 (ANI): A woman from Telangana’s Kodangal constituency, who was allegedly stranded in Muscat, Oman, after being cheated on the pretext of employment, on Tuesday thanked Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR) for facilitating her safe return to India.
Tuppudu Lakshmi, wife of Venkatappa and a resident of Gokafasalwad village in Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s Kodangal constituency, met KTR at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad after returning to India and expressed gratitude for his intervention.

According to a statement issued by the BRS, Lakshmi had travelled to Muscat on February 27 in search of employment to support her family. However, after reaching there, she was allegedly assigned work different from what had been promised to her by the agent who facilitated her travel.
Her employer allegedly confiscated her passport and refused to facilitate her return to India. Meanwhile, the agent who had arranged her travel reportedly stopped responding to her calls and demanded Rs 2 lakh to arrange her return.
With her Wi-Fi and SIM card disconnected, Lakshmi was left without regular communication with her family. She eventually managed to contact her son, Raju, through a neighbour’s internet connection and informed him about her circumstances.
Unable to bear his mother’s suffering, Raju approached KTR on September 29 and sought his help in securing her return.
According to the BRS statement, KTR assured Raju that he would secure his mother’s passport and bring her back to India within a month. He subsequently wrote to the concerned officials and intervened to facilitate her return.
After reuniting with her family, Lakshmi met KTR in Hyderabad and thanked him for helping her during the difficult period.
Recalling the assurance given to her son, Lakshmi said, “KTR Anna promised my son that he would bring me back within a month. He kept his word and brought me home. I can never forget what he has done for me and my family. My heartfelt thanks to KTR Anna.” (ANI)
