Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], November 3 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary on Tuesday said the Congress and INDIA bloc of attempting to destabilise the country and seek regime change, alleging that they were working at the behest of foreign powers.
He said the Opposition was attempting to mislead people and create instability in the country by raising the issue of developments in neighbouring countries, including Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
Speaking to the reporters, Chaudhary said, “Given how the people of the INDI alliance are attempting to destabilise the nation and incite the public—a fact brought to light by a sting operation aired on TV channels, revealing their intent to destabilise India along the lines of what has been seen in Bangladesh, Nepal, or Sri Lanka—it is important to note that India’s democracy is extremely robust, with roots that reach the very last person in society. To ensure that such a scenario does not unfold in our country, and to raise public awareness, the Bharatiya Janata Party is holding the ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ rally.”
Further, Chaudhary said that the Congress was frustrated following its electoral defeats in Bihar, Rajasthan and other places, and challenged Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi to debate the issues in Parliament.
Referring to the recent MLC elections conducted through ballot papers, Chaudhary said the results had also favoured the BJP, adding that the Congress should introspect over its continued absence from power in several places.
“Elections were recently held in Bihar, Rajasthan and other places, where people rejected them. That is why they are frustrated. Even in the recent MLC elections conducted through ballot papers, the results favoured the BJP. Congress has been out of power in several places for years. They should introspect. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has changed India’s position today. Traders in Delhi appealed to Rahul Gandhi to hold protests there after Diwali, warning that it would otherwise cause losses to their businesses. But Congress did not listen. If you have the courage, come and debate it in Parliament,” he said.
Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Manoj Kumar Pandey said that the BJP would undertake a ‘Loktantra Bachao Yatra’ under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, accusing the Congress, its allies and the Samajwadi Party of undermining democratic institutions.

“Whenever there have been attacks on democracy, or attempts to weaken it, the BJP has always vehemently opposed them. Today, the entire nation and the world are witnessing how the Congress and its allies, along with the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh, are making a mockery of democracy. Attempts are being made to topple elected governments. In response, the BJP, under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, will conduct a ‘Loktantra Bachao Yatra’ march. As long as the BJP is present, democracy will never be allowed to be weakened,” Pandey told reporters.
Uttar Pradesh BJP Vice President Neeraj Singh said the party’s march was aimed at protesting against what he alleged were attempts by the opposition to push the country towards anarchy.

Singh said thousands of people would participate in the march to register their protest against the opposition, accusing it of violating democratic and constitutional systems and values.
“This foot march is a manifestation of our protest that Save Democracy-Remove Anarchy… The opposition is trying to plunge this country into the fire of anarchy. Today, the public will come out in thousands to express their protest against it. Our Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will also join this foot march of the Save Democracy-Remove Anarchy campaign. We will register our protest against the opposition, which is engaged in violating all democratic and constitutional systems and values,” he said.
Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Bhupendra Chaudhary said the BJP had launched a campaign to raise public awareness against what he alleged was the Congress party’s agenda of creating anarchy in the country.

He alleged that the Congress had pursued this agenda since it was removed from power by the people through the democratic process.
“Ever since the people of the country removed the Congress from power through the democratic process, the Congress party has had an agenda to create anarchy in the country… To raise public awareness against this, our party has launched this campaign, which will run from today until November 5, and we will alert the people of the country,” he said.
The BJP has launched the nationwide ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ campaign as a counter to the opposition’s allegations and campaign against the party. (ANI)
