Depreciation increased 18.1 per cent YoY to Rs 1,820 crore due to growth in the asset base, while finance costs rose 53.9 per cent to Rs 905 crore on account of increased borrowing and higher interest rates.

Despite the shift of major festivals to the third quarter, Reliance Retail registered 7 per cent YoY growth in customer transactions.

The company opened 303 stores during the quarter, although its total store count declined by a net 222 stores after the closure of unproductive outlets.

Revenue from its consumer electronics distribution business increased 20 per cent YoY, driven by mobiles and laptops.

In the fashion and lifestyle segment, LFL sales increased 3 per cent YoY despite the shift in the festive calendar.

The contribution of Reliance Retail’s own brands increased by 710 basis points YoY, while the share of digital commerce in apparel and footwear revenue rose by 100 basis points.
