Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], October 30 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah reached Lucknow on Friday to attend the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) state working committee meeting, as the party prepares its organisational roadmap and election strategy ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls.

The meeting brings together the party’s senior state leadership, district presidents and key office-bearers to discuss organisational priorities, review grassroots outreach and set targets for the upcoming Assembly elections.

Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, along with party organisation officials, will participate in the state executive committee meeting.

Ahead of Shah’s address, State minister Danish Azad Ansari said, “Today there is a big meeting of the executive committee. Whatever BJP’s vision is, we will move forward to implement it on the ground and win with a full and thumping majority in 2027. In 2027, the lotus is going to bloom again in Uttar Pradesh…the Samajwadi Party will be completely wiped out in 2027…”

Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak said, “Today, the BJP is holding its Working Committee meeting in Uttar Pradesh. Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the proceedings and provide fresh energy and guidance to the organisational structure within the state.”

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Congress president Aradhana Misra-Mona criticised the BJP ahead of the meeting, saying the party should reflect on the outcome of the recent Legislative Council elections and address issues concerning the state.

“They should determine their strategy; after all, it is their own party executive meeting. However, they also need to reflect on the recent MLC elections, which serve as a clear mandate against the BJP… Issues such as unemployment, inflation, a lack of credibility, and concerns regarding law and order are the areas they should review… They can devise countless strategies, but the people of Uttar Pradesh have already made up their minds: the formation of an ‘INDIA’ alliance government in 2027 is now a certainty,” Misra-Mona said.

The Uttar Pradesh unit of the BJP is holding its state working committee meeting on Friday, with Shah scheduled to address party leaders and workers. The party had convened a meeting of its state office-bearers at the UP BJP headquarters on Thursday to finalise the agenda, key issues and arrangements for the gathering.

The working committee meeting is expected to focus on strengthening the party’s organisational structure across the state, coordinating with district-level units and preparing workers for the 2027 Assembly elections.

Shah’s visit comes as the BJP prepares to seek a third consecutive term in Uttar Pradesh, following its victories in the 2017 and 2022 Assembly elections under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. (ANI)
