New Delhi [India], October 1 (ANI): Delhi Police arrested a 23-year-old man on Thursday for allegedly stalking a 22-year-old Delhi University student, officials said.

The woman had approached police on September 27 and filed a complaint at Maurice Nagar Police Station, alleging that the accused had been following and contacting her for the past few months.

According to police, the accused and the woman knew each other and lived in the same neighbourhood. The accused is also a former Delhi University student, police said.

Following her complaint, police registered a case and arrested the accused. Further investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, in a separate case, Delhi Police arrested a man identified as Deepak in connection with the murder of a gym trainer in Aya Nagar, officials said on Thursday.

According to police, Deepak allegedly harboured and provided shelter to two shooters involved in the killing of gym trainer Vijay Kumar.

Kumar was shot dead on September 14 after two bike-borne assailants opened fire at him near Hansa Chowk in Aya Nagar, South Delhi, police said. He sustained multiple bullet injuries and later succumbed to them.

Several bullet casings were recovered from the spot, police said.

During the investigation, police arrested Deepak for allegedly harbouring the two shooters. Police are questioning him to ascertain where the shooters were allegedly sheltered and what role he may have played in the planning and execution of the murder.

Further investigation is underway. (ANI)
