Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], September 24 (ANI): Producer Sammy Nanwani opened up about his upcoming ‘Jai Hind Jai Sindh’, sharing that this film will bring Indian history closer to audiences across India, particularly a younger generation that may know little about what Sindhi families experienced during Partition.
According to the press note shared by the makers, for thousands of years, Sindhis had their own state/homeland in Sindh, but after Partition, many were forced to leave the land their families had called home for generations. For producer Sammy Nanwani and the entire Sindhi community, the pain is deeply personal.
“They lost their land, their property, their parents and their children during Partition. Many Sindhis still carry that pain. That deep cut is still not healed. Jai Hind, Jai Sindh is a story every Indian should watch, there is so much of our history and our journey in it,” said producer Sammy Nanwani.
‘Jai Hind, Jai Sindh’ is a passionate love story between two young people, with Partition forming the backdrop, while also connecting the experiences of a grandfather and his grandson. Through these characters and their journey, the film looks at the human cost of Partition and the emotions that continued across generations. The five songs in the movie are also melodious and romantic, as per the press note.
The movie features Mahesh Manjrekar, Jaya Prada, Chhaya Kadam, Rahul Dev, Vikram Kochhar, Zarina Wahab, Amit Behl, Indira Tiwari, Upasana Singh, Ehsan Khan, Pooja Katyal, Ajit Shidhaye, Ankiith Arora, Rajveer Singh, Nanak Singh, Kartikey Malviya, Fatima Ayesha Khan and Garima Agarwal, while introducing Gauravv Dhingra and Akaisha Vats.
The movie is directed by Indrajit Lankesh and is slated for a worldwide theatrical release in October this year. (ANI)
