Thiruvananthapuram (Keralam) [India], September 7 (ANI): Hailing superstar Mammootty as the “pride” of Malayalam cinema, Keralam Chief Minister VD Satheesan on Monday extended his warm greetings to the ‘Bramayugam’ star on his 75th birthday.

“Birthday wishes to the pride of Malayalam cinema, our dear Mammootty. His acting journey, which has been creating wonders on the silver screen for over five decades, is an eternal inspiration to Indian cinema itself. Birthday wishes have been pouring in for the Malayalam superstar across social media platforms. 

His longtime friend and co-star Mohanlal also wished him on social media, adding, “Happy birthday dear Ichakka! Wishing you good health, happiness, and continued success always.”

Marking the actor’s 75th birthday, makers also unveiled the title and first-look poster of his upcoming film ‘Mela’ with director Nithish Sahadev.

Mammootty also shared the update with his fans: “Presenting The Title & First Look Poster of Our 9th Production Venture #MELA Directed by Nithish Sahadev.”

The first-look poster presents Mammootty in an intense and rugged avatar. The veteran actor is seen wearing a black shirt and black mundu, sporting a commanding look.

Among his latest releases is ‘Patriot’ – a Malayalam political action spy thriller that hit cinemas on May 1, 2026. 

The actor is also set to feature in ‘Mattancherry Mafia’. On the other hand, Mammootty will further reunite with acclaimed filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan for ‘Padayaatra’. 

He is also teaming up with Dhanush for the upcoming Tamil action thriller ‘Om’. The film also features Sai Pallavi, Naseeruddin Shah, Sreeleela and Indrans. (ANI)
