
Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) [India], August 23 (ANI): Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya on Sunday participated in the ‘BRICS Friendship Sunday on Cycle’ event as Visakhapatnam hosted the BRICS Youth and Sports Ministers’ Meetings under India’s BRICS Chairship 2026, bringing together Ministers and senior representatives from member countries for high-level deliberations.
Mandaviya and Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Khadse welcomed representatives from BRICS nations and held a meeting with them in Visakhapatnam on Sunday.
In an X post, Mandaviya shared a picture from the ‘BRICS Friendship Sunday on Cycle’ event and said, “Celebrating BRICS friendship through Fit India’s #SundaysOnCycle amid the serene beauty of Visakhapatnam.”

Fit India Sundays on Cycle (SoC) is organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) in collaboration with the Cycling Federation of India (CFI), Raahgiri Foundation and MY Bharat. The cycling drive is conducted simultaneously across all States and Union Territories, including at SAI Regional Centres, National Centres of Excellence (NCOEs), SAI Training Centres (STCs), Khelo India State Centres of Excellence (KISCEs) and Khelo India Centres (KICs). Over 6,000 NAMO Fit India Clubs also organise the cycling initiative nationwide every week.
Meanwhile, the BRICS Youth and Sports Ministers’ Meetings provide an important platform to exchange national experiences, identify areas for practical cooperation and strengthen collective efforts towards youth participation, sports development and inclusive growth.
The ministerial engagements bring together Ministers and Heads of Delegation from all 11 BRICS member countries to strengthen cooperation in youth affairs and sports.
India’s BRICS Chairship 2026 is guided by the theme “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability”, reflecting a people-centric and humanity-first approach.
The ministerial engagements build on the meetings and discussions held during India’s BRICS Chairship and provide an important platform for advancing cooperation among BRICS member countries. (ANI)
