New Delhi [India], August 20 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah hit out at the Congress and said that the Congress Working Committee has once again repeated the politics of appeasement by deciding to sing only two stanzas of ‘Vande Mataram’.

As per an official press statement, Shah said that the same decision taken by the Congress in 1937 had laid the foundation of the partition of the country. In the 150th year of ‘Vande Mataram’, the Modi Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has corrected this historic mistake by deciding that the complete song will be sung at government programmes.

The Union Home Minister described the Congress’s decision as an act of appeasement and an insult to Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay and the freedom fighters and appealed to the people to raise their voice against it.

Shah stated that the Congress Working Committee took a shocking and anti-national decision yesterday.

He said that, following its party’s 1937 resolution, it decided to sing only two stanzas of the great song ‘Vande Mataram’.

Shah said that the entire country should remember that in 1937, the Congress party, for the sake of Muslim appeasement, divided ‘Vande Mataram’ into two parts and laid the foundation for the partition of the country. It was from there that the two-nation theory gained strength, ultimately leading to the partition of the country and the birth of Pakistan, the statement said.

Shah said that today, in the 150th year of the emergence of the song ‘Vande Mataram’, the Modi Government has corrected that historic mistake by seeking to once again strengthen national unity by singing Bankim Babu’s immortal composition in its entirety. The government has also decided that the complete song will be sung at all government programmes and has given legal sanctity to this decision, while the Congress decided yesterday to disregard this decision.

Union Home Minister asserted that the Congress’s decision only and only confirms its blatant policy of appeasement.

Shah said that, to appease its vote bank, the Congress has not only insulted the immortal composition of Late Bankim Babu but also insulted the millions of martyrs who, chanting ‘Vande Mataram’, sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence and spent several years in jail.

He asserted that the Congress party is today following its own 1937 party resolution while rejecting the Act of Parliament. It is deeply surprising that, under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, the Congress party is once again vigorously pursuing the politics of appeasement in the country. He appealed to the people of the country to remember that the nation had once made the mistake of allowing ‘Vande Mataram’ to be divided into two parts, and the country had to bear serious consequences of that mistake.

Shah said that the people of the country should now unite and raise their voice against the Congress party’s decision, making it clear that the politics of appeasement will no longer be tolerated in the country. He stated that this is a free country.

He stated that Prime Minister Modi has corrected the decision taken by the Congress in 1937, 80 years after independence.

He asserted that the people of the country will no longer tolerate opposition to this correction. The Bharatiya Janata Party strongly condemns the Congress party’s decision and will forcefully oppose it before the people as well as in the legislative houses. (ANI)
