New Delhi [India], August 4 (ANI): Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday announced that he will visit Prayagraj on August 8 to lead the next leg of his ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ initiative, stepping up his attack on the Central government over unemployment and alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations.
Gandhi said the programme in Prayagraj would focus on highlighting the concerns of students and “exposing the reality of the job crisis” in the country.
Taking to X, the Congress leader announced that the event would be held at 5 PM and alleged that young people are no longer willing to accept “empty promises” and “hate-filled propaganda.”
“In Kota, we exposed the extortion machine feeding on students’ dreams. In Dehradun, we exposed the rigged system behind paper leaks that destroy countless lives. In Prayagraj, we will expose the reality of the job crisis,” Gandhi said in his post.
He further added, “The students of our country have stood up against this oppressive regime; they will no longer accept empty promises and hate-filled propaganda. We will ensure their voice is heard across the country. Join us in Prayagraj on 8th August, 5 pm for #ChhatronKiGoonj.”

The Congress leader also shared a video for the upcoming event featuring the slogan, “Job nahi milega to singhasan hilega” (If jobs are not provided, the throne will shake).
The ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ campaign was launched by Rahul Gandhi from Rajasthan’s Kota through a rally titled “Chhatron Ki Goonj Maha Rally”. He later took the campaign to Dehradun in Uttarakhand and is now scheduled to continue it in Prayagraj.
Through the campaign, the Indian National Congress has been raising issues related to employment opportunities, examination paper leaks and reforms in the education sector.
The party has also demanded a comprehensive overhaul of India’s education system and alleged that the government’s approach towards education lacks vision.
Earlier, a party release said that Rahul Gandhi is also scheduled to address conventions in Allahabad, Patna and Delhi as part of the outreach programme aimed at engaging with students and raising issues related to their concerns. (ANI)
