Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], July 24 (ANI): BRS Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) launched a sharp attack on both the BJP-led Union Government and the Congress-led Telangana Government, alleging that while the Centre was suppressing the voices of students and youth, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was helping divert public attention from the Centre’s failures.
Addressing a massive gathering of students and youth at Indira Park, KTR said the overwhelming participation reflected growing anger against the Centre’s handling of issues affecting young people, particularly the NEET paper leak and the alleged crackdown on student protests.
According to the BRS PRO, KTR said the voice of India’s youth could not be silenced through force or intimidation and asserted that every attempt to suppress democratic dissent would only strengthen the movement.
KTR demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, holding him morally accountable for repeated examination irregularities and the Centre’s failure to safeguard the interests of students. He urged the Union Government to engage in a meaningful dialogue with the agitating students instead of resorting to repression and intimidation.
He accused the BJP government of betraying the aspirations of millions of students and unemployed youth while refusing to take responsibility for repeated examination irregularities.
He added that the country was witnessing a dangerous trend in which those demanding accountability were being targeted instead of those responsible for the failures.
Launching an equally strong attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, KTR alleged that instead of leading a united fight against the Centre on an issue affecting students across the country, the Telangana Chief Minister had chosen to target the BRS for political gains.
He accused Revanth Reddy of displaying double standards by avoiding any direct confrontation with the BJP while attempting to divert attention through attacks on the opposition.
KTR said the people of Telangana expected the state government to stand firmly with students and youth, not act as a shield for the BJP. He asserted that the centre and the state government had both failed the younger generation – the former by suppressing their voices and the latter by refusing to challenge that suppression.
Calling upon the youth to remain united and democratic in their struggle, KTR said the fight was not merely against paper leaks or repression, but for justice, accountability, and the future of India’s youth. (ANI)
