Rudraprayag (Uttarakhand) [India], July 8 (ANI): Rudraprayag Police on Wednesday intensified its district-wide “Operation Cyber Suraksha” campaign to strengthen action against cybercrime.
The initiative focuses on the swift disposal of cyber complaints, immediate action on complaints received through the 1930 cyber helpline, effective implementation of the e-Zero FIR system, and ensuring the prompt recovery and refund of money lost by victims of cyber fraud.
The campaign also aims to maintain updated records of cyber criminals on the designated portal, ensure the immediate registration of FIRs in cybercrime cases involving women and children, and facilitate the timely disposal of all pending cybercrime cases.
Speaking on the initiative, Superintendent of Police (SP) Rudraprayag, Niharika Tomar, stated that the primary objective of the drive is to provide relief to victims of financial fraud.
“In accordance with orders from Police Headquarters, Dehradun, a cyber security campaign is being conducted by the police across all districts throughout the month of July. The Rudraprayag district police are also fully engaged in this work. Our objective is to review and resolve various cybercrime cases–whether they are registered on the NCRP portal, relate to ‘digital arrest,’ or are ongoing cyber investigations. Our main aim is to ensure the recovery and return of funds to the victims,” SP Tomar said.
Beyond financial crimes, the Superintendent of Police noted that the campaign also focuses on the recovery of lost property and the protection of minors in the digital space.
“Additionally, the campaign encompasses other procedures such as recovering and returning lost mobile phones, as well as taking action against the dissemination of child pornography and sexual abuse material on the internet, based on tips received from the National Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC),” she added.
Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami earlier today reviewed the functioning of the Social Welfare Department and directed officials to design all welfare schemes keeping in mind not only present-day requirements but also the challenges and needs of the next 25 years.
He said the schemes should remain effective over time and serve as “best practice” models for other states.
“Our government’s objective is not merely to launch welfare schemes but to establish a sustainable and effective system that meets the needs of future generations as well. Social security, education, and dignity are the rights of every eligible citizen. Uttarakhand will develop a model of good governance that inspires other states across the country to adopt similar practices,” CM Dhami said. (ANI)
