New Delhi [India], July 3 (ANI): BJP leader Gourav Vallabh launched a sharp attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC), alleging that the party had lost public support due to corruption and misgovernance and claimed that the people of West Bengal would not forgive it.
Speaking to ANI on Thursday, Vallabh alleged that the TMC had failed to fulfil its promises made under the slogan “Ma Mati Manush.”
“TMC is already gone now; nothing remains of the name TMC. Only the aunt-nephew will be left there, and no one will survive there because of the kind of atmosphere there was of dictatorship and corruption. Look at their language and see how much anger people have towards them; you can gauge this from how they have ruled so badly for 15 years,” he said.
Claiming that the party would face electoral setbacks, Vallabh said, “Whether it’s Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha, I think TMC will be wiped out because TMC had no policy at all. The TMC that has been deceiving with ‘Ma Mati Manush’ for 15 years, the people of Bengal will not forgive it now.”
Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially intervened in the ongoing leadership tussle within the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), seeking responses from both Mamata Banerjee and Ritabrata Banerjee regarding conflicting claims over the party’s organisational structure and authorised signatories.
The poll body has directed both factions to submit their responses by 5:30 PM on Monday, July 06.
The move comes amid a deepening rift within the party, with the faction led by Ritabrata Banerjee claiming legitimacy over the party’s symbols and administration.
The political crisis within the party deepened after 58 of the TMC’s 80 MLAs broke away from the Mamata Banerjee-led leadership following the Assembly poll defeat. The rebel legislators subsequently backed Ritabrata Banerjee as the Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly and announced a new 30-member National Working Committee. (ANI)
